Chartwell Capital Appoints David Gibson-Moore as Senior Advisor to Tap into Middle East Opportunities

Hong Kong, May 12, 2026 — Chartwell Capital today announced the appointment of David Gibson-Moore as senior advisor, as the firm sees growing investment opportunities across the Middle East.

Mr. Gibson-Moore has over three decades of experience spanning global banking, investment management and corporate finance, with a long track record across the Gulf region. He has held senior leadership roles at institutions including LGT Bank, Robeco and Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorgan Chase), where he led regional and global businesses across EMEA. During his time at Chase, he was often referred to as “David Rockefeller’s ambassador to the Kingdom” for his role in supporting the firm’s engagement in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Based in the Middle East since the mid-2000s, he has advised sovereign wealth funds, royal families and leading family offices, and is widely recognized for facilitating high-level relationships across the region.

Mr. Gibson-Moore currently serves as president and CEO of Gulf Analytica, vice chairman of Apolonia Capital, president of Renaissance Fund Management and advisor to Ghana’s Ashanti Foundation, among other roles.

At Chartwell Capital, he will work closely with the investment team to support the firm’s strategic expansion into the Middle East, providing insights, access and guidance as it seeks to identify and tap into opportunities in the region.

“David’s experience and relationships in the Middle East are exceptional,” said Ronald Chan, Founder and CIO of Chartwell Capital. “Geopolitical tensions only reinforce the importance of building stronger ties between Asia and the Gulf. David’s perspective will be invaluable as we continue to build connections and work more closely with partners on the ground.”

Mr. Gibson-Moore also commented on his appointment: “The Middle East continues to play an increasingly important role in the global investment landscape. I am pleased to be working with Chartwell Capital, a firm with a strong foundation in Asia and a long-term approach to investing, as it explores opportunities to build meaningful connections across the Gulf.”

His appointment reflects Chartwell Capital’s broader strategy of building long-term partnerships globally, as the firm expands its network and looks to capture opportunities arising from closer economic ties between Asia and the Middle East.
